Tobacco Avenue is Richmond, VA’s most accurate source of misinformation.
Though it sometimes deals with actual events, Tobacco Avenue is completely fictitious. It is written solely for the purposes of satire and entertainment. All names are invented in stories, except when public figures or well-known people and organizations are being satirized. If a name turns out to be real, the instance is purely accidental and coincidental.
Generally, it is a best practice to never, ever take anything you read on this site seriously.
However, be sure to check each story or photograph for embedded links. Most times, you will find links to the “real news,” or uncover the inspiration behind the article. You may also be able to link directly to a business, organization or restaurant’s Web site via the story. That’s right: you can actually learn something by reading Tobacco Avenue. It makes you smarter.
All that said, enjoy your stay, come back again and tell a friend, even if you have none.

Who are you??? This is the funniest thing to come out of Richmond in a long time. I find myself checking the website several times a day and emailing your “news” to displaced Richmonders around the country. People are now getting tired of me talking about TA, and are getting annoyed. The irony in Richmond is often unbelievable- thank god someone is finally doing something about it. Maybe you could become a super-hero and start crashing some Richmond events- expose the rediculous! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
