Capitalizing on “the perfect opportunity” to play an April Fools Day joke on someone, Richmond Mayor L. Douglas Wilder told reporters this morning that he mimicked the iconic Grey Poupon television spot on his way to a finance meeting.
“You should have seen it, the look on that woman’s face,” said Wilder, who pulled up to the intersection at 8th and Broad streets, rolled down his window, and politely asked a woman in the car beside his if she had any of the Dijon mustard that adds distinctive flavor to beef, pork, poultry, salad dressing, sauces and sandwiches. “It was classic.”
Wilder said he planned to pull off another prank today at lunch, purposefully spilling his Pepsi on the table to show the waitress the difference between Bounty paper towels and the other leading brand.

The least you could have done was play dead for a day or two. Now I have to wipe the spit off my screen again.
