Tobacco Avenue has reached a contract agreement with its reporter’s union after a strike abruptly stopped operations at the Richmond-based fake news Web magazine for nearly a week, the publisher said today.

“We’re back, and I think after this little episode we’ll be stronger than ever, kinda like Hulk Hogan,” said a chuckling Randolph J. Strummer Jr., editor and publisher of the ridiculously sophomoric site, making a joke that was just so, so stupid.

The strike’s end comes after the Satire Writers Guild of America Local 2208 reached a deal with the money-hungry Strummer to be paid with more than white chalk, fruit snacks and weekends tied to an office chair and forced to write comedy.  Terms were not disclosed.  The 56-year-old, who has no friends, said he would have made a deal earlier in the week but he had to leave the city for a while and didn’t have time.

    Hmmmm,

Let us see here conspiracists every where in RVA land.

1). TA “disappears” for a “satire writers strike”.

2). Gene Cox disappears fro NBC 12 virtually simultaneously.

3). TA “magically” reappears Monday and …
TA DA!!!!!! … Gene Cox is back on NBC 12 the swame day!

Am I reading something into these “coincidences” or …

A). Is there a mysterious planetary alignment we are not aware of?

B). Is is all Gene Trani’s fault?

C). What did Doug Wilder do to prompt this situation?

D). Are Mr TA and Gene the same person?

Food for thought for idle minded Richmonders I think!

If I had to guess I’d say good conspiracy theory, but I have another: the writer of this web site had to leave town to a place without internet access and came up with a completely lame excuse as to why there were no new posts.
