The Martin Agency was bestowed its 942nd honor of 2008 today for being one of the best agencies in the U.S., ranked No. 3 in the country by Advertising Age.
Martin - which has on average received 44 awards a day so far this year – has nearly climbed to its year-ago kudos-getting pace, when it was just 16 accolades shy of 1,000 by this time. Trade publications consistently rank Martin as one of the best agencies in America, along with such distinctions as having the second-most comfortable sofa in a U.S. lobby, No. 4 most hottest graphic designers in the nation and having the third most-bounciest ping-pong balls on a table tennis set located in the northern hemisphere.
The Shockoe Slip advertising agency is responsible for the creation of the Geico cavemen and the insurance company’s iconic green gecko, as well as the “Virginia is for Lovers” slogan. With clients such as Wal-Mart, UPS, NASCAR and other major brands, Martin is by far the largest agency in Richmond, just one spot ahead of Bobby’s Advertising Service, which markets a locally-made shaving cream.
