Weather, planet Earth’s naturally-occurring atmospheric changes with respect to wind, temperature, cloud formations, moisture and pressure, is expected to hit the Richmond region hard this weekend.
“Weather is definitely going to change come Friday, well into the evening and on into Saturday,” self-proclaimed “weather expert” Jim Duncan told Tobacco Avenue in an exclusive interview today. “There is a slight chance of changes well into Sunday, too.”
The weather is expected to become warmer, in which case temperatures will rise, Duncan said, though there is a 50 percent chance that the weather could also become colder.
In such an event, the temperature – a measure of the warmth or coldness of an object with reference to a standard numeric value – would drop, he said. Duncan said that there is also a possible chance of rain on Saturday, though it could be sunny, sunny with a chance of showers, or possibly cloudy.
In addition, he said, Central Virginia could see hail, snow flurries, minor flooding, a hurricane, zephyrs in Chesterfield County, sunshine in Glen Allen (the Hanover County Glen Allen, not the Henrico County one), thunderstorms, an Indian summer, a possible nor’easter, a solar and/or lunar eclipse and “definite cold wave with a probable warm front.”
Duncan, who describes himself as a “meteorologist,” said he plans to share his opinion of the weather to thousands of Richmonders via a live television feed tonight at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Local weather experts believe an updated opinion on the state of the weekend’s atmospheric fluctuations should be available sometime in the later evening. When asked what the changes would be, Duncan replied, “Find out at 11.”
